Aromo Winemakers Selection
Cabernet Sauvignon / Syrah Red Blend
This wine is a terrific blend of a serious, concentrated and spicy Cabernet Sauvignon and a young, flavorful and expressive Syrah, loaded with black fruit and featuring an attractive, purplish red robe.
Blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon & 40% Syrah
Alcohol: 13.5%
Vineyards, Vinification & Aging
Training System: VSP for both varieties.
Pruning: Spur Cordon for Syrah and Cane with 8 buds for Cabernet.
Yield: Cabernet Sauvignon 8.900 kg/ha Syrah 9.500 kg/ha.
Harvest Date: Cabernet Sauvignon, second and third week of April. Syrah, second week of April.
Fermentation: Inoculation with specific select yeasts. For Cabernet Sauvignon the fermentation temperature was 26-28ºC, and for Syrah 24°C-26ºC. MLF was conducted in the presence of oak.
Pre-fermentation: Cold pre-fermentation for 3 to 5 days (only Syrah)
Maceration: 60% of the wine was aged in French (70%) and American (30%) oak for 6 to 8 months.

Origin
In 1922, French company Estansan & Co., realizing the enormous potential of the Maule Valley in terms of its location, soils and exceptional climate for the cultivation of vinifera vines, founds Vina Aromo.
In 1936 Don Victor Henriquez Solar decides to venture into the elaboration of fine wines and acquires the rights for Estansan & Co’s winery, merging it with the extensive vineyards he inherited from his ancestors.
